Boston RFC

36 - 0

(HT 0-0)

Peterborough RUFC

Boston kicked off with a gale force wind at their backs, that the ball didn't travel 10 metres was against the laws of 'maths, physics and bionics'. From that kick off, a Boston player grabbed the ball, and rather than the expected scrum to Boro, it was play on.  Boston to be fair were a decent side, had a big physical pack and backs who knew what they were doing. They used the prevailing trade wind to good effect scoring a few tries, and keeping Boro deep in their own half. This didn't stop Boro from trying, and their teamwork stood up to the test. Half time Boston 26 Boro 0.

Boro now had the wind at their backs, but it stopped, like that. And then the skies opened and we had rain, lots of rain. Boro's New Kids On The Block would make progress, before the now very slippery ball would be knocked on. Mel's carrying was a hard as teak. And Nat was acting as teacher to the backs around her, including Steph, making her debut at 9. Boston scored another couple of tries as the sun came out. Boro were running out of steam, but had given their all.
Final Score Boston Ladies 36 Peterborough Ladies 0
So the Ladies march to Twickers in the cup is over, but it does mean that they can focus on the league, and as the vice captain said "flip the cup" (at least that's what I think she said).
