Taking centre stage as the main event at Olney RFC, Peterborough enjoyed stepping out on a sunny Saturday afternoon to quite a crowd.
Inside centre, Penny Woods, was the receiver from a scrum move which created a gap in the defence under the post and opened up the scoring for the game (0 - 5). Converted by Maddy Buckland (0 - 7). Abi Sole-Potter was next over the line after running half the legnth of the pitch, weaving through defence, to score (0 - 12), converted by Maddy (0 - 14). That was enough to gee the opposition up and the next 20 minutes was an arm wrestle between the teams. Olney were able to get the ball out to their powerful winger who broke the defensive line and popped to the full back to score out wide (5 - 14). In reply, Erica Barbosa scooped up a loose ball from within our half and ran the ball up the pitch, hotly persued by the Olney fullback, to score under the posts (5 - 19).
Converted by Melanie Fulcher (5 - 21).

The seond half saw the backs taking the ball wide, at great pace, and beating the opposition on the outside.
