After a thrilling start to the day with a visit from England red roses, Emily Scarrett and Sadia Kabeya, the mood was high and Boro were ready to get out on the pitch.
Sutton Coldfield were the first to get points on the board with 2 early tries in the first 10 minutes to take a 12 point lead. The next 20 minutes saw both teams testing each other in an arm wrestle up and down the pitch. Boros attack was finally able to penetrate the defence, with Penny Woods scoring out on the wing (5 - 12) to get our first points since being promoted to championship 2 league. Tails were up and Boro were on the attack again, This time it was Annie Fenton's turn, the opposite winger, to weave through the opposition and score under the posts. Converted by Jaz Devereux (12 - 12). Sutton Coldfield scored again just before half time.
