Bridgnorth RFC

66 - 12

(HT 36-7)

Peterborough RUFC

After a rather long trip to Shropshire, we were at least pleased to see the weather was bright and clear.  A picturesque way to spend the afternoon.  Game on!

Boro were first to score with a beautiful interception from scrumhalf, Annie Fenton, who then ran over half the length of the pitch to score under the posts.  Converted by George Nicholls.  Unfortunately, we then had a spell of injuries with our 3 forward replacements all getting on the pitch within the first 25 minutes.  Bridgnorth meant business and ran in 5 tries.

Half time 35 - 7

Boro were also first to score in the second half.  A big push from the forwards to drive Emma Harlley over the line.   Not converted,  35 - 12.  Even with Bridgnorth reduced to 14 players with a yellow card, Boro couldn't stopped the strong attacking play.  A hard shift from Boro, with the team giving it their all but coming up short against a very strong, drilled side.

Full time 66 - 12

Forward of the match - Poppy O'Driscoll

Back of the match - Annie Fenton

Opposition player - Michelle Barkney

Player's player - Melanie Fulcher

Next game: 2s XV away to Stamford, Sunday 1st March.
