Peterborough managed to win their 2nd game in a row this past Saturday away at Market Harborough.
What can be called a definite game of two halves. The first 40 minutes were all the home side who raced out to a 17-0 lead. Boro just weren't in the game and found themselves constantly on the back foot. Then after the 35-minute mark Boro were given somewhat of a life line with in form centre Robert Jacobs latching on to a wayward pass from the homesides backs to run in a simple intercept try, Byron Van Uden adding the extras for a 17-7 halftime score.
The second half was a complete reversal from the first with Boro now dominating. Market Harborough found themselves camped in their own 22 for large parts of the half. With so much territory Boro ran out 31-17 winners. Jacobs again scoring and was joined by Willis Ingleby who scored a great close range try. Van Uden added 16 points in total from the kicking tee.
Coach Shane Manning; “The first half was very poor, particularly how we started the game but that comes down to myself as Head Coach, I have to get them ready so we will have a look at that. The second half however was very pleasing, not only to keep them scoreless at their home ground but to score 31 unanswered points was a great effort. Stuart Day and Jack Lewis got through a tonne of work on attack and RJ and Willis looked dangerous whenever they got the ball in hand.
Next for us at home is Oadby Wyggestonian. Oadby Wygges had beaten us in our previous meeting last season, so we are expecting a close game. Nothing can be taken for granted in our league so we will work hard during the week and hopefully get another win.”
