That was a chilly one, and Maddy gets an armchair ride at 10.
Buckingham Swans forfeited the league match so Boro Ladies found themselves in a cold St Neots for a friendly instead.
From the start it looked like that the old adage that there is no such thing as a friendly was true. Boro were bossing the forward battle, and providing the backs with good clean ball to do their thing. Sarah got things moving with a good support line to go over in the corner. Four minutes later, following some similar play Hannah was able to score in almost the same spot. Sav was next on the score sheet, before Maddy scored her first of the day, and was successful with the conversion. Jess scored what must be one of the tries of the season, receiving a pass in the Boro 22 before a mazy run round (and in some cases through) the opposition to score, Maddy again getting the extras. It wasn't all good news as Elinor had to go off with a banjaxed ankle (technical term). However, Jo proved to be up to the task and there was no change in the forward dominance.
Half time St Neots 0 Peterborough Ladies 27
The hosts looked to up their game in the second half and decided to take a kick at the posts from a penalty !!! This not only annoyed me, it awoke the Boro Ladies to take the game to St Neots. Maddy scored again, and converted, again. Then she scored another, after great work from the forwards with Mel able to give the final pop. Maddy then did it again following a jackal from Steph that allowed the points machine to sprint to the line. The pack made hay in the cold, and the hosts backline was so fixed on stopping the centres (Jess and Cheryl) that Maddy was able to exploit the vast open tundra in front of her.
Final score St Neots 0 - Peterborough Ladies 46.
Players player - Tyne

Don't forget the Ladies Christmas Fayre at the club next Sunday. Something for all the family.
