The success of the girls' section of Peterborough Rugby Club has been soaring since it was established; they've won more than 20 trophies and were one of the finalists in the 'Junior Team of the Year' category at last year's National Rugby Awards.
As well as a senior ladies' team, Peterborough fields teams in all of the age groups recognised for girls' rugby - under-18s, under-15s, under-13s and under-11s. There are 75 players and ten volunteer coaches contributing to the ongoing success in these various leagues.
Simon Potter, founder and manager of the Peterborough girls rugby section, said: "Our great adventure is about more than just teaching girls how to play a sport. We like to open them to new experiences We've taken the girls to France and Wales to broaden their rugby experience. We've brought England internationals - both male and female - to the club to coach the girls and will always be on the look-out for new opportunities."
Training has started again at the rugby club. Potential new recruits can contact spotter@prufc.com to arrange a free trial or for any other information required.
